From shelter to shelter: pregnant dog finds help before being euthanized

Frannie is a sweet and mischievous little dog who loves to have fun. However, her owner is not angry because she knows how much her pet had to endure. Frannie’s life could have ended already in the shelter in Houston (Texas), where she was brought by her previous owners…

At that moment the dog was pregnant. The shelter she ended up in was full of stray animals and there was no place for her to be housed. The staff offered to euthanize Frannie and her unborn babies.

After learning about this, the volunteers from the organization “Best Friends” decided to come up with something to save the poor dog. Literally on the eve of the fateful decision, Kim McDaniel came to the shelter to see the situation with her own eyes.

And soon she was carrying Frannie in her car. Kim had been warned that the dog would give birth at any moment and it could happen during the trip, so she had to prepare. Just in case, the woman covered the car seats with a tarpaulin and sheets.

All the way Frannie looked out the window, as if feeling her life change. In fact, now she was no longer threatened with euthanasia, and this was the first step towards the future.

Kim and Frannie spent the night safely in a hotel, then set off again, crossing Utah and finally arriving at the location of the organization that agreed to take Frannie. They were nine in all. Some of them turned out to be too weak and it seemed that they would not survive. Fortunately, the organization’s employees did not give up and the sleepless nights paid off: all the puppies survived!

A few months passed and the puppies ended up in their own homes.

By the way, Frannie was adopted first. The dog showed his best side and literally charmed his future owner, Lorraine. She took Frannie in temporarily to see how she would behave, but soon realized she couldn’t part with her and adopted her.

Today Frannie has a happy life and nothing reminds her of the sad past. And Kim and the rest of the Best Friends organization are sincerely glad that they were able to save the dog literally at the last minute and did not allow Frannie to be euthanized.

Sometimes saving someone’s life is very easy. The main thing is to be in the right place at the right time!
