The mother thought that she was not going to get pregnant since she was breastfeeding her daughter. She now has three babies under one year old.
Eliza Curby is a 27-year-old Australian woman who believed in a very common myth that is spread as an indisputable truth: you can’t get pregnant if you’re breastfeeding a baby. For this reason, after having her first daughter, Charlie, the couple did not decide to take care of themselves, thinking about the effectiveness of breastfeeding as a ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴇᴘᴛɪᴠᴇ method.
In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Eliza stated that this is a myth that she certainly put to rest. “Breastfeeding doesn’t make a c***, this pregnancy happened, it’s real,” she says.
“My doctor uses me as an example for couples who say they don’t need a ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴇᴘᴛɪᴠᴇ plan after the birth of their child.”
The young mother realized she was pregnant again when she woke up one day with a sᴇᴠᴇʀᴇ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴀᴄʜᴇ, although the doctor gave her confirmation of the twin pregnancy.
“When we fell, Ben’s face went white. I’ve never been so nervous in my life.” Neither he nor his family could believe it when they heard the surprising news.
“When we went to dad’s and told him we had exciting news, he thought we were getting married. But when we told him that we were expecting twins, his face was horrified.
The babies were born in December at 36 weeks pregnant by scheduled C-sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ. They were two identical twins who were called Jack and Wolf. Now the couple has to deal with the care and expenses of three babies under one year of age since Charlie was still 11 months old when they were born.
The mom’s unique situation prompted her to offer parenting advice for multiple families. However, she still does not have enough time to take charge of the project due to the daily demands of the little ones.
“It’s like I have to start over. But now multiplied by three. Three bibs, three baby seats, three of everything.”
Eliza says that even though she and Ben have only been together for two years, they still make a “very good team,” even though they became parents so soon.
“I got pregnant with our first daughter, Charlie, three months after we started dating!”
However, the mother says that their relationship has been “surprisingly good,” that Ben is proud, and that he loves being the father of this large family at 38 years old.
