When the gorgeous children were born in February, they each weighed slightly more than 5 pounds, approximately 2 pounds less than the average newborn in the United Kingdom. Despite the concerns of their parents, premature infants are now developing typically. We do not know if they will survive because they are so young, said Kerrie-Anne Ellison, the proud mother of two daughters and a six-month-old son. Compared to the size of our fingertips, they are enormous. They were hospitalized for nine weeks and appeared quite feeble in the incubator.

However, these soldiers are very small. Each day, the three of them have grown stronger. Kerrie-Anne, 33, of Bromborough, Merseyside, and her husband, 33-year-old print finisher Simon, were elated to learn they were expecting their second child. After two years of abortive attempts, the couple turned to a facility for assisted reproduction in April 2015. According to Kerrie-Anne, a full-time mother, physicians determined that I was unable to conceive naturally because I did not produce estradiol. After receiving an injection to stimulate her oocytes, three embryos were released and fertilized.

After completing treatment at Arrowe Park Hospital in Merseyside in August 2015, Kerrie became pregnant. She stated, “Simon and I were ecstatic, but it wasn’t until a sonogram that we discovered there were three heartbeats. We were astonished.” A 26-week ultrasound revealed a problem with blood circulation between the twins. Preeclampsia is a condition that threatens the lives of both Kerrie-Anne and her unborn child.

She stated, “It was terrifying to hear what was taking place. One out of every three triplets experienced a restriction in blood flow.

Physicians successfully delivered three neonates via emergency cesarean section at Arrowe Park. Skye and her sister Cole each weigh one pound and one ounce, whereas Rylee weighs two pounds. I’ve never seen a neonate so little, Kerri-Anne remarked. They continued to grip our fingertips until they eventually wrapped their entire hand around one of our minuscule digits. Nevertheless, after only one day of mechanical ventilation, all three patients were able to breathe on their own. After a week of waiting, we were eventually permitted to hold them, and Kerrie-Anne recalls that it was a wonderful experience. Now that we are permitted to bring them home, Paige can play the role of a devoted older sibling, which she greatly values. Everyone is thriving and growing stronger. Wonderful to be at home together.”

And each member of the magnificent triumvirate has developed a unique personality. “It’s fascinating to observe their differences,” Kerrie-Anne states. Rylee is the oldest sibling and first-born child. She has a strong will and desires only to be curious. “Skye is the leader. Even in her attempts to communicate, she possesses the most charisma. In contrast, Cole is cold and unmotivated. I was obligated to awaken him and feed him. He is however the most gluttonous and consumes the most food.” He currently weighs 10 pounds and ten ounces, whereas Rylee and Skye weigh 9 pounds and thirteen ounces and 9 pounds and five ounces, respectively. They consume five bottles of milk daily, while I change twenty-one diapers daily.

“Paige is my assistant, and I could not achieve success without her. She used to bottle-feed one of the triplets while I breastfed the remaining two while sitting on the knee of one of them.

“If a person is crying, she distracts them, which is a great help to me. Now that they are laughing uncontrollably, she delights in making them laugh even harder. Nonetheless, the family may soon require a larger dwelling. Kerrie-Anne explains, “We currently reside in a three-bedroom home, but it has become too small, so we must consider moving to a larger residence.” We had to switch from a Ford Fiesta to a larger, six-seater vehicle.
