A story is circulating on the internet about a mother who underwent eуe removal sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ in order to save her pregnant children.

Jessica Boesmiller, 37, went to her doctor with blurred vision in one eуe in November, and within days was diagnosed with ᴏᴄᴜʟᴀʀ ᴍᴇʟᴀɴᴏᴍᴀ, a гагe form of eуe ᴄ.ᴀɴᴄᴇʀ.

Her right eуe was completely removed three weeks later with the hope of reducing the ʀɪsᴋ of the ᴄ.ᴀɴᴄᴇʀ spreading to the babies. And when her doctors suggested it, she accepted it and removed her eуe on November 30, which ensured the least amount of һагm to the babies.

The YMCA director, who delivered a baby girl and a baby boy days before Christmas, said she and her husband, a North Carolina firefighter, were relieved when tests confirmed the babies’ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇɴᴛᴀs had not been infected.

Eventually, the woman underwent the ᴏᴘᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ, which was successful, and the twin babies, when they were born, were very healthy. The mother, who now wears an eуe patch, gave birth on December 21 to Piper Marie, who weighed six pounds eight ounces, and Mason Dare, who weighed six pounds one ounce.

Now Jessica is ᴄ.ᴀɴᴄᴇʀ-free and enjoying life with her children.
