A dying dog battling cancer holds on just long enough to reunite with her dad, creating a poignant and heartfelt moment

Dogs are among the most devoted creatures on the planet. Their love for their family members is incredible. The story of an 11-year-old dog with cancer demonstrates how powerful that loyalty can be.

Kermie was diagnosed with cancer a month after her owner, Eric Ralston, deployed for an eight-month period. Jennifer, Eric’s wife, wrote on her YouTube page that the family didn’t anticipate Kermie to be able to see her ‘dad’ return.

The family then received some very terrible news just twelve days before Eric was scheduled to return home. “The deployment was being extended indefinitely,” Jennifer wrote on her YouTube page. Kermie was never going to make it till Christmas.”

Kermie, on the other hand, was able to hold off until Eric returned home. Eric’s return was like “some sort of magic pill” for Kermie. She adored him so much that when he returned home, she resumed eating and drinking and lived to see her 12th birthday in January. Unfortunately, the tumour did take her life in late February 2013, but she was able to spend her final days with the man she adored.

Eric Ralston was reunited with his dog, Kermie, in a miracle scene captured on camera by her family. Needless to say, she was overjoyed to see him again. Watch the sweet reunion moments below.
