Three of the adorable puppies resemble pandas, while the other three have distinct markings. When they were born, their fur was closer to an ash color, but it later changed to black and white. It is unknown whether their markings will remain this way or if it is merely a phase where they resemble panda cubs.
Owner Shaojun Shi refuted skeptics who claimed he could have simply dyed the adorable panda cubs’ fur, stating, “I don’t think it would have turned out this well if I had tried.” The owners have reportedly been inundated with offers for the tiny puppies, but they claim they will not sell them because they are still too immature.
Pandas are so uncommon not only because they are endangered, but also because the Chinese government has a monopoly on their trade. China has utilized pandas as a diplomatic instrument by lending them to governments with which it wishes to establish closer ties. They insist that any offspring born outside of China still belong to China.
