Tressa Middleton was only 12 years old when her eldest daughter was born, after her brother had violated her.

 

Tressa Middleton could be forgiven for feeling a rollercoaster of emotions the moment she cradled her new???? ???? .

 

As her daughter was placed on her bosom for the first time, a surge of maternal love was followed by a wave of longing and sorrow.

Because Tressa, age 24, is unlike any other British mother.

In 2006, at the age of 12, she became the youngest mother in the United Kingdom after being assaulted by her 16-year-old sibling.

At the age of two, Tressa was forced to place her first child for adoption, and she has never ceased thinking about her.

So when she poses for a family photo with her second child Arihanna and her 31-year-old companion Darren Young, her smile conceals a profound yearning.

She acknowledges that becoming a mother again has been bittersweet.

“When Arihanna was born, I felt unadulterated happiness. “There were times when I thought I would never have another child,” Tressa says.

“However, I also feel regretful because my younger daughter is not with me while Arihanna is.

“I still think of her first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

“I adore her immensely. I cannot be truly content without her. It tears my heart that Arianna will not know her older sibling as she grows up.”

After a 24-hour labor, Tressa and Darren gave birth to Arihanna on October 6 weighing 8 pounds and one ounce.

Today, she speaks about her new baby for the first time in a home decorated with photographs of the daughter who propelled her into the limelight over 11 years ago.

She also possesses cherished mementos, such as the child’s handprints, baby clothes, and a strand of her hair – relics of a life born from a traumatic tragedy.

Tressa says, “Arihanna will never forget that she has an older sibling. I discuss it with her now, despite the fact that she cannot comprehend. She will never be a mystery.

“They are polar opposites; Arihanna is cheerful and content, whereas my other daughter was outspoken and spirited. But I’m certain they would get along.

“I inform Arianna that if her sister were present, they would play games together. I sincerely wish that they will meet one day. That would mean everything to me.

“In the meantime, all I want is for Arihanna to have a normal, safe, and loving childhood.”

As a child, Tressa never appreciated security.

Her mother, Tracey Tallons, struggled with alcoholism and substance addiction, and as a toddler, Tressa sobbed her way through all-night festivities.

At age seven, her perverted sibling Jason began to sexually assault her. After he assaulted her, she became impregnated four years later.

She gave birth at age 12, and she and her child were placed in foster care.

Tressa says, “I adored my mother, who did her best to raise us but struggled.”

“Sometimes, all I wanted was a regimen – to watch television and go to bed at a reasonable hour like other families.

“Because she had so many issues of her own, I could not discuss everything that was occurring to me with her.

“I pray Arianna never goes through what I did; I want her to confide in me about anything.”

Tressa hid the identity of her first daughter’s father from her family for two years, but at age 14, she broke down and told a social worker.

In 2009, Jason, then 19 years old, was sentenced to four years in prison after a DNA test revealed he was the father.

Devastated Tressa’s baby was then removed from her, and she was informed that the girl would be adopted and their relationship would be severed.

Tressa is still haunted by memories of their final encounter, which occurred when her daughter was three years old.

She says, “I had no idea it would be the last time I saw her. She did not recognize me and was terrified. I couldn’t embrace her.

“The worst part was when she called out for me, but she meant her adoptive mother.

“Thereafter, we were only able to transmit messages. I was forbidden from saying “Mummy loves you” for fear of confusing her.

Tressa fell into a profound despondency and self-medicated with alcohol and drugs.

In 2011, at her lowest point, she developed an opiate addiction.

With the assistance of a counselor, she was able to overcome her addiction and begin a new life with Darren.

The couple were ecstatic when Tressa discovered she was expectant in 2012, but Tressa miscarried and her mother died of pneumonia at age 41 just three days later.

“Losing both the infant and the mother in the same week was so difficult,” Tressa explains.

“It’s unfortunate that she’ll never meet Arihanna. She would be immensely pleased of her.

“She was with me when I gave birth to my first daughter, and it was difficult not to feel sad when Arihanna arrived without her.”

Since Tracey’s funeral, Tressa has not seen Jason, but she continues to experience flashbacks to the sex assaults.

She has not received a letter from her family in nearly three years, but she always sends birthday and holiday gifts to her daughter.

Tressa is aware that the girl, who is now 11 years old, will one day discover the horrifying reality about how she was conceived.

“I hope her adoptive parents don’t tell her that I became pregnant because Jason raped me,” she says.

“I also do not want her to read it in the newspaper. I believe I should be the one to tell her when she is of an appropriate age to comprehend.

“I would prefer Arianna did not know the complete details of my past. She must live her own existence, and she is my new beginning.”

Tressa and Darren have established a residence in Bathgate, West Lothian – a few miles from Armadale, where she endured a harrowing childhood.

Tressa desires to enroll in college and major in psychology.

She says, “Perhaps where we live has traumatic memories, but it brings me closer to my mother.

“When I became pregnant for the first time, I was terrified Arihanna would be removed from me due to my past, but social workers can see that I have transformed.

“Darren and I are private individuals.

“We rarely go out and we never imbibe or do drugs.

“Now, when I see 11- and 12-year-old females on the street, they appear so youthful that I find it hard to believe I had a child at that age.

“I want Arianna to experience everything I did not, such as attending college and earning a degree.

I am adamant that her existence will be radically different from mine.
